0A day at Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival 2015 with Frozen
When we’re leaving an arena after a show, we usually try to be quick to avoid long queues. But with Baby Girl in tow there’s no such thing as leaving a show venue quickly.
Instead of walking out of Wembley SSE Arena after Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival yesterday, she had to be carried and the Elsa dress she was wearing was wet from all the crying. We were some of the last to leave our seats, as Baby Girl had found it incredibly upsetting that the show had finished.
It was not just a case of her saying she wanted to see more. She was crying loudly, screaming that the show was not finished when we tried to explain the situation to her, and she needed a lot of persuading to get up from her seat.
Seeing the hosts Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald, and the four different sections of the show, showcasing highlights from Little Mermaid, Tangled with Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast and Frozen, had clearly made an impression on her. She had been clapping excitedly, regularly commenting on the fact that they were skating on stage and singing along to the Frozen songs.
I had been worried the show, which lasted more than two hours with an interval, would be too long for Baby Girl, who is two years and eight months old, but I had been wrong as usual.
‘I love Disney on Ice,’ she said even before we entered the arena, and later at home she added: ‘Thank you Mummy and Daddy for taking me to Disney on Ice.’
With such a grateful toddler, we will clearly be going to Disney on Ice every year for years to come!
