0Disney to open West End summer pop-up in Covent Garden
To celebrate Disney’s West End musicals Disney fans can visit a summer pop-up in Covent Garden this summer, exploring costumes and props and interactive experiences.
The Disney in the West End Summer Pop-Up , which returns for a second year, will showcase four of Disney’s stage shows, including the The Lion King and Aladdin, Frozen–due to open in London in autumn 2020–and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, which is set to hit West End this autumn.
In-store this year, visitors can see iconic masks, puppets and costumes from the The Lion King, strike a pose in a Frozen photo moment, enjoy the nostalgic charm of Aladdin or take a Mary Poppins spelling challenge. There will be free interactive experiences, performances and meet and greets on the pop-up’s stage, and the events schedule (available to view at www.disneyonstage.co.uk) includes Mary Poppins-inspired kite-making crafty workshop and a Circle of Life virtual reality experience, which will all be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
