Chelsea Quavers summer workshops
Chelsea Quavers, which runs children’s music clubs in central London, including Chelsea and Kensington, is hosting summer workshops from Monday 13 to Friday 17 July in Hall of Remembrance in Flood Street in Chelsea. With the theme for the summer workshops being Music in Film, attendees will be singing and performing classics from Toy Story, Sound of Music, Star Wars, Lion King and silent-movies, including Charlie Chaplain. Children who play an instrument can bring it along, and those who don’t play one will get one during the sessions, which are suitable for children aged 4 to 12 years. Four-year-olds can stay from 9am-1pm (£60 per day, £300 five days), and 5-12-year-olds do full days from 9am-4pm (£87.50 per day, £430 five days). There are also spaces available for private 30-minute drum lessons for children aged 5-12 to take during the summer workshop (£30 per private lesson).
Theatrebugs holiday workshops
Drama class company Theatrebugs is running holiday camps for children aged 3.5 years to 6 years in various locations in South West London from the week commencing on 27 July to the week commencing on 17 August. The week-long camp, which includes acting, singing, dancing, dressing up and arts and crafts, runs over five days, with the 2.5-hour long sessions starting at 9.30am every weekday morning. On the last day, the children get to be on stage. One of the camps takes place in Christchurch in Fulham from 27-31 July (£140 per child), and one is in St. Barnabus’ Church in Battersea from 10-14 August (£134 per child). Theatrebugs offers a 10% sibling discount for the youngest sibling.
Cupcake Family Club summer workshop
Parsons Green members club Cupcake Family Club is hosting a three-day Frozen Fever summer workshop for children aged 3 to 7 years from Tuesday 28-Thursday 30 July. Attendees will learn dance routines and songs from the film in the three sessions from 1.30-3.30pm each day, with the last day including a performance for parents. Places can be booked online (£59 for members/ £69 for non-members for the three workshop sessions, which include a 30-minute tea break each day).
