0Easy fruit smoothie recipes for a family day inside
‘I want a smoothie, Daddy!’
Baby Girl was watching Let It Go from Frozen on Sunday afternoon and shouted to Daddy T in the kitchen. I was sitting next to her on the sofa, but she clearly didn’t want her fellow choir member to do anything else than to keep singing along to her favourite song.
And Daddy T listened to the boss. We had received a Nutri Ninja blender and Lactofree products, as Mummy in the City is now a brand ambassador for the Lactofree series of dairy products free from lactose, and Daddy T had everything he needed to meet Baby Girl’s expectations.
Our freezer is full of bags of frozen fruit we buy from Whole Foods on Fulham Road, as I think frozen fruits are fantastic for smoothie-making. Buying frozen also means it’s easy to keep a large variety of fruits at home at all times, and we eat more fruit than we do if we only keep fresh fruit in the house.
This time, Daddy T took a handful of strawberries and pineapples and mixed with a glass of Lactofree semi-skimmed milk, which has a longer shelf-life than other milk we buy, and whizzed it in the Nutri Ninja blender ideal for frozen blending.
He didn’t need any sugar or sweetener. The strawberry smoothie went down well with Baby Girl and her choir member, and Daddy T quickly had to come with the Nutri Ninja bullet, which has a practical lid for easy pouring, to refill our empty glasses.
