2How to enable guided access on iPhone
There’s one function on the iPhone that I use almost daily nowadays, but a year ago I didn’t know it existed. And even if I had known about it, I really don’t know when I would have wanted to use it before I became a mum.
The ability to enable guided access on the iPhone is pretty genius for mums. It keeps the iPhone in a single app, solving the problem of babies and toddlers instantly clicking out of apps when given the chance to use one. By starting guided access, Baby Girl can play with her favourite animal sound flash cards and not suddenly start calling or deleting things from my phone.
If you’re not already using guided access, here’s a quick guide to how to start guided access on an iPhone:
1. Go to ‘Settings’ – ‘General’ – ‘Accesibility’, turn on ‘Guided Access’ and set the passcode. Make sure it’s a code you’ll remember!
2. Open the app you want to use, click the home button three times, and then click ‘Start’
3. To get out of the app, click the home button three times again, enter your passcode and click ‘End’
Hi Tine, this is fantastic-I had no idea it existed. I’ll be using it often now too! Thanks for the great tip x
Hi Vicki, I’m so glad to hear you found the post useful! I love this feature on the iPhone. x
