0Encouraging baby to eat more
I hope Baby Girl didn’t see The Times on Monday. The headline of the top story was “Obesity will send today’s children to early grave”. It’s not the type of stories she needs to see right now.
We have the very opposite issue. I’m spending at least three hours every day desperately trying to get her to eat her solids. Although 11-month old Baby Girl is bigger than the average for her age, she’s not followed her weight curve after she started being more active. She’s a very fast crawler and no “couch potato” like children often grow up to be these days apparently.
I’ve now been told Baby Girl needs to eat more–including more carbs–so I’m trying everything.
I’ve found out that she loves bread, strawberries, and Ella’s Tomato and Cheese Puffits, but apart from these things there’s not much food that seems to excite her. On Saturday I tried ordering her a child-friendly mini-burger and unsalted fries with a side of broccoli after the weigh-in, and even that wasn’t a huge hit.
Feeding a baby is hard work. I never pictured myself as a mum with a baby who only likes bread and snacks, but here I am. Life doesn’t always go as planned.
