The excitement of seeing Disney on Ice at The O2

On Sunday, we were practically clapping non-stop for one and a half hour. We had used the Thames Clippers tickets we’d received to hop on London’s river bus and made the journey from Embankment to The O2 to see Disney on Ice.

It was the perfect family day out, and it practically felt like a mini holiday. We started with a comfortable 40-minute boat trip passed many of the city’s most famous landmarks and then disembarked at our destination, which was buzzing with families with young children. Before the show started we had time to stop by Sky Studios to visit the free Frozen experience they had on, grab an early dinner at Byron and secure a fabulous princess wand from the Disney on Ice stalls.

I was worried we wouldn’t see much from our seats, as we booked the Disney on Ice tickets late and there was very limited availability at the time, but it turned out I had nothing to worry about. We could see the joyful performance perfectly well, and Baby Girl didn’t seem to mind that we were sitting quite far from the stage. She was still eagerly clapping and dancing in her seat when she spotted her favourite Disney characters, such as Mickey and Minnie, take on the ice rink.

On the easy journey on the river back from The O2 to Embankment, I started searching for tickets to the next Disney ice festival. Going to Disney on Ice reminded me of being little myself and I absolutely loved seeing 28-month-old Baby Girl excited about the magical show and feel the atmosphere at The O2. What a day!
