0Feel-good Christmas tree shopping with The Christmas Forest
When I started putting together our annual photobooks the other day, the first pictures I selected were from last year’s Christmas tree outing. It’s nothing too exotic. We don’t leave the city, but I tend to take a photo of the family when selecting the tree. And this year was no different.
We chose perhaps the most popular Saturday to buy a Christmas tree, and headed to The Christmas Forest on Lavender Hill yesterday, where we had been invited to select a Nordmann fir, non-drop Christmas tree to review.
I was interested in writing about The Christmas Forest because I like the family-run company’s concept of ‘a tree for a tree.’ They sell premium-grade sustainably-grown trees at 10 locations in London, including Clapham, Richmond and Putney, and for every tree they sell they plant a tree in the drylands of Africa, working closely with the charity Tree Aid.
When visiting The Christmas Forest in Clapham, which is open until 10pm every day now, we were offered help to find our tree straightaway, and the tree expert was both funny and friendly. There was a large selection of real different sized trees, and we also picked up a decorated wreath for our door. Our tree will be delivered today, which The Christmas Forest offers through a delivery partner for an extra charge, but for others who want their tree delivered, there’s also the option to order the tree online.
One more thing sorted for Christmas!
