Finding a rental car to suit baby

When I read my favourite shopping mall in Naples, Florida offered complimentary valet parking, I relaxed again. Daddy T had just announced that he wasn’t sure we could park anywhere without valet, as the holiday rental car was so huge he assumed it would be difficult to fit into a normal parking bay.

When he booked he hadn’t considered parking in front of the cool boutiques I was planning to visit in Old Naples. His main priority was finding the biggest car available to ensure Baby Girl was safe on holiday.

The biggest he had found at the time of booking was a SUV, so I expected a normal family car. Instead, we ended up with a family car for the more modern, blended family. Not one for our little family of three.

When the woman behind the counter at the rental agency showed us a photo of an enormous eight-seater we were collecting, I think I would have cried if I had been the one who was meant to drive. It almost looked like we should have had a bus-driver license to drive it, so I tried to ask if we could trade down, but she was having none of it since the car had been prepaid.

Daddy T didn’t understand what I was on about though. All he wanted was a big, safe car for Baby Girl. And I couldn’t argue with that. From that perspective, it certainly seemed to fit the bill.
