Finding the best nursing pads

I woke up in wet pyjamas yesterday. Not the bottoms, but the top. There was a large milk stain on the left-hand side – my first major milk accident.

I thought this would have been more likely to happen in the beginning when I was leaking even more and had to change nursing pads after every feed. But at that point I was also using disposable nursing pads that stuck to the bra, with my favourite being the Lansinoh pads.

Now I’ve tried to be clever and change to wool nursing pads from Lanowool and ImseVimse for the winter season. I had been advised to use wool ones from the start, but I simply couldn’t deal with more laundry than necessary. The four pairs I had bought before Baby Girl was born ended up at the bottom of the laundry bin for three months.

It’s not before now that I’ve taken them out of there. Although they don’t stick to the bra and I’m fiddling more to position them after a feed, I don’t need to change pads as often anymore, so additional laundry is not as big an issue. Keeping warm and wearing something comfortable is my priority right now.
