0Finding ways to stop baby crying
On Sunday, we were thrilled to have found a hair twisted around Baby Girl’s finger. I had read that hair is often one of the things doctors look for when examining distressed babies, so I instantly assumed the hair had been the reason for why Baby Girl had been crying so much.
I told Daddy T that he had most probably fixed the problem. After he had removed the hair, we would have a peaceful home with a happy baby who never cried.
My joy lasted about two minutes. I was trying to put Baby Girl to bed when she set off again. I shouted into the living room to Daddy T that I had been wrong. It wasn’t the hair after all.
Today she’s back on ranitidine. I really wanted her to be well, but I think I have to accept that the reflux hasn’t magically disappeared like I thought it had.
And after three more days of screaming, I’m now sure it definitely wasn’t the hair around her finger causing all the crying in between feeds.
