0Baby pampering at the Baby Spa
I’m not sure it was a great idea to take Baby Girl to a spa. There’s nothing that seems to please her now. I don’t know if she understands why we’re not at the spa every day.
Yesterday we had a breakdown in communication again, and it was almost like she was looking at me and questioning why we weren’t doing what she wanted to do, which was probably to go swimming with a flotation device around her neck in the Jacuzzi-size trunk at the Baby Spa in Kensington.
After going to the Baby Spa on Tuesday, the tub at home might not be too exciting. She seemed to love everything about the spa – paddling around with arms and legs, looking at the plastic fishes on the side and meeting another baby boy in the water.
She probably didn’t mind that the swim was followed by a professional baby massage either. Baby Girl had a quick snack after her 15-minute swim before she was placed on her back on top of several soft towels with a mobile to look up at during the treatment. She was later turned around on to her tummy, and she could look at herself in a frog-shaped mirror leaning against the wall.
When I went to the till to pay, I had the option to pay for one session or a pack of five or ten. Baby Girl was already passed out in her pram, and looking at her it felt cruel not to take a pack. She clearly needs a fortnightly float and massage.
