0First time with baby in A&E
It reminded me of being in Disney World. We kept thinking we had reached the end of the queue, and that it was our turn. But instead there was just a new queue to join.
We spent close to three hours in A&E in the middle of the night yesterday. When I picked up Baby Girl for her late night feed at 10.30, I noticed she had a bump behind one ear. She didn’t have fever, but I still felt it was something that had to be checked out since she’s only 12 weeks old. Daddy T agreed and we all jumped into a taxi.
When it was finally our turn to be seen, two doctors looked at Baby Girl and confirmed she was perfectly fine. She had a swollen lymph node, which could be a sign that she’s been fighting off a cold, but it was nothing to worry about.
Lying on the hospital bed in front of us, Baby Girl had her first proper laugh. At least one of us could see the funny side of having spent a night in A&E.
