0Learn how to make stylish flower arrangements at The Battersea Flower Station
There’s a reason why Daddy T turned up at Coya last night with a spray rose in his shirt pocket. He hadn’t come from a wedding. But he had agreed to put on what I’d suggested, and I thought it was a brilliant idea for him to wear the flower. It wasn’t any flower though. It was a flower I was super proud of having made for him at a flower workshop at The Battersea Flower Station in the morning.
I had been invited to attend the 2-hour flower workshop where I got to make a beautiful table arrangement and buttonhole with fresh, seasonal, English flowers. It was a great way to start the day, and it was ideal for busy mums wanting to switch off and gain new skills.
The class was run outside in a garden tent in this hidden and welcoming garden centre, and Rebecca, the friendly and inspiring florist teaching the class, was brilliant at giving tips on how to make the arrangement look chic, contemporary and stylish.
For our creation, we got to choose our favourite flowers and style, so it was easy to make something I loved taking home.
In fact, it turned out I liked making flower arrangements so much it’s not long before I find myself buying oasis and binding wire!
The Battersea Flower Station has started running regular flower workshops, and the next one is tomorrow on 21 June (£25 per person). Contact The Battersea Flower Station via email on hello@batterseaflowerstation.co.uk or phone 0207 978 4253 for further details and to book your place.
