Fulham with children: A guide for families with kids

Fulham_Babyccino_Joe'sBrasserie_TheBrownCowBaby Girl and I have spent quite a lot of time in Fulham in the past six months, and in recent weeks, we’ve even ventured over to Fulham for Saturday and Sunday brunch.

Here’s a brief overview of some places worth knowing in Fulham:

Harbour Club
I spend a lot of time at Harbour Club, a large tennis and sports club in Sands End. Harbour Club is popular with the mummy crowd, as there’s a crèche and a soft play area for children. The restaurant at the Harbour Club is also very child-friendly, there are classes for children, swimming pools and swimming courses, family changing rooms and free parking.

Cupcake
We go to family club Cupcake for our monthly meet-ups with antenatal course company New Baby Company, and there’s a play area in the café there, which Baby Girl likes. We’re not members of Cupcake, but members have access to a range of classes for babies and young children, a crèche and a small gym.

Joe’s Brasserie
The Brinkley’s restaurant Joe’s Brasserie on Wandsworth Bridge Road serves brunch from 11 on Saturday and Sunday, and there’s a separate kids menu. Last weekend, we came soon after they opened, and Baby Girl could have chicken, sorbet (see photo at the top) and babyccino (see photo bottom left), while we had English breakfast and lattes.

The Brown Cow
I was thrilled to find out the gastro pub The Brown Cow is open for breakfast from 10 on Saturdays. We went last weekend, and the only challenge for families with young children is the lack of high chairs. But I tied Baby Girl to her chair with my scarf and she sat on top of some coats to get closer to the table. She was excited to have her regular Sunday babyccino (see photo bottom right) and scrambled eggs and avocado.

Le Pain Quotidien
There’s a Le Pain Quotidien by Parsons Green, and this is an ideal place to meet up with several friends with buggies, as it’s quite spacious. I often see mums with young babies sitting in the section at the back of the restaurant, and this area is a bit more private and ideal for breastfeeding mums.
