0New in the UK: Look out for fun children’s tableware by Tulipop
I’ve been to press events at the Icelandic Embassy in Knightsbridge several times before, but yesterday was the first time I was there together with a cardboard cut-out of a sweet mushroom boy named Bubble who likes picking and smelling flowers.
It was the UK launch of quirky Icelandic children’s brand Tulipop, now available online and from Igloo Kids, and I was excited to see the Tulipop collection of tableware, water bottles, stationery, nightlight and posters – all with fun and colourful designs.
When I returned home with samples including a three-piece melamine dinner set, 17-month old Baby Girl got excited too. She insisted on eating her dinner from her new bowl featuring the sweet mushroom boy Bubble. I could see this dinner set (£19.50) with plate, bowl and tumbler making a lovely gift too, and it’s something I would consider buying for children aged between 1-8.
Another fun product from the Tulipop collection is the Mr Tree night lamp, which has been a sell-out in Tulipop’s local market Iceland and makes a unique gift for a baby, christening or birthday.
Signy, the CEO, said she even had one in her living room at home, and although it would look slightly out of place in our living room now, I like the fun unisex design and could see it being a super cool addition to a mint-green or yellow nursery, or forest-themed children’s room.
The lamp (£55) is available online and it will also be in shops around the UK in the coming weeks.
