0Gearing up for first day at nursery
Saturday afternoon I tried getting to the bottom of the laundry bin. Saturday night I started the name labelling process. Sunday afternoon we were out looking for nappies and nappy sacks before sewing on labels on socks, dribble bibs, a comforter and a drawstring bag to put the comforter in – items I had forgotten about the night before.
I then tried introducing Baby Girl to the comforter, so she would at least recognise it if the nursery teachers had to give it to her, expecting the new comforter to have a soothing effect on her.
Sunday night I ensured her shoes were labelled, and her drinking cup had her name on it. I also started packing spare clothes that could be left in nursery in the large, personalised drawstring bag Grandma N had made.
And before going to bed I read the notes from the nursery about what to expect on the first day at the same time as I was biting my lip and getting myself ready for a sleepless night–too excited and anxious about this new chapter in Baby Girl’s life.
