0Back to school with Mi-Pac backpacks at Debenhams
Summer is not all about holiday for parents. It’s about booking kids activities, ordering name tags, buying school uniforms and getting back-to-school essentials like lunch boxes, drawstring bags and backpacks.
For us, it’s only the youngest who needs the latter, as Baby Boy is yet to get a uniform. He is starting nursery school and needs a drawstring bag for spare clothes, and I can imagine it’s not long before he’ll also need a backpack for class trips.
When I was offered the opportunity to collaborate with Debenhams on a Back to School post, I was excited to discover their online collection included more than 20 different Mi-Pac backpacks in different sizes and styles. Mi-Pac started as a British backpack brand in 2012, and they’ve since evolved, producing not only everyday backpacks but also shoulder bags and other accessories.
For young children, it’s the Mi-Pac Mini (£18) that stands out, and Debenhams has the Mini available in different block colours (see the navy backpack on the right) online. It looks the same as other Mi-Pac backpacks, but is smaller in size. It is particularly practical for kids since it is fully lined inside and the backpack is water resistant. It also features a zipped pocket at the front, a carry handle and dual-zip opening to the main compartment.
I like the fact that Mi-Pac, which has also had collaborations with Liberty Art Fabrics and London College of Fashion, specialise in functional everyday backpacks which will appeal to not only nursery-age children like Baby Boy, but also older children and grown ups. This is one to watch and the Debenhams back to school range , featuring backpacks and drawstring bags from a variety of brands, is now a good place to shop for block colour Mi-Pacs and cute dotted and gingham print Mi-Pacs.
