0Getting toddlers dancing with Fisher-Price’s Dance & Move BeatBowWow
When Big Girl turned 16 months I remember thinking, “Wow, this is my favourite age!” Since then I’ve had a number of potential new ‘favourite ages’, but one of the reasons I liked 16 months so much was that it suddenly seemed to become easier to communicate with my toddler.
Now I’ve seen the same with our smiley 16-month-old Baby Boy. The other day I tried to keep him entertained in the playpen area we’ve created for him, while I was trying to cook him dinner.
In the middle of the play area he had his Fisher-Price Dance & Move BeatBowWow, a cute four-legged activity toy he’s received to review, and when I told him to go turn on the music he did exactly what he was told with great enthusiasm.
We then both did a little dance–and this was repeated again and again. I’m thrilled he can now follow instructions and even have a little boogie. It’s adorable and keeps making me smile.
Fisher-Price Dance & Move BeatBowWow is designed to encourage some of these fun moments with toddlers, getting them moving and grooving to music and lights.
The musical toy dog has soft, floppy ears and tail moving to the beat, and Baby Boy can easily press the two buttons on the dog’s paws to get the music started. We then enjoy dancing while the dog sings things like ‘paws up, wag your tail now’, which is also useful for older toddlers who will learn to follow dance instructions.
I like that the songs seem to be a tad longer than other musical toys we’ve had before, which is great for the entertainment factor as long as Baby Boy avoids constantly pressing the buttons.
BeatBowWow is all about creating a little mini disco at home, and in recent weeks, an at-home toddler boogie is probably the closest I’ve been to a dance party!
Fisher-Price BeatBowWow (£29.99) is designed for children aged 9 to 36 months
