0A girly London day out with doll hairdressing at My London Girl
On Sunday Baby Girl had a hairdressing appointment. Not for herself, but for her doll.
We had been invited to try the doll hairdressing at the impressive Westfield London doll shop My London Girl, which is offered on certain dates throughout the year, and we couldn’t wait to see what Doll Anna would look like after her little makeover.
The doll hairdressing, which I think is a really sweet idea, can be booked for dolls that are not from My London Girl as well as My London Girl dolls (£3.50 for My London Girl dolls or £7 for dolls from other brands).
The little doll hairdressing chairs are adorable, and I like the fact that girls can choose a hairstyle for their dolls. To make the most of the trip, I think Baby Girl and I will look at pictures of hair styles at home first next time, and then bring in one she likes to show the doll hairdresser.
Our only problem with the outing this time was that I got way too excited about visiting My London Girl, feeling I’d discovered my new favourite toy shop with not only a mini hairdressing salon for dolls, but everything from doll riding helmets, doll sunglasses and doll furniture to doll fancy dress costumes and doll clothes to match girls clothes.
We ended up buying Baby Girl a new doll while we were there. I was sold as soon as I saw a much older girl turn up for the doll hairdressing, and Daddy T was easily convinced that this was practically an investment piece–a beautiful long-haired doll Baby Girl would treasure for years to come.
We let Baby Girl select one from the standard dolls selection (£79 each), which came with a photo card with details about the doll’s interests, birthday and friends and a voucher for a free doll hairdressing session at the store. When we got back home, I called Grandma N to tell her about the fantastic place we’d discovered, suggesting we’ll have to try to fit in a doll hairdressing appointment next time she visits to show her the shop.
A new addition to my list of fab girly activities for big and little children in London!
