Finalising Halloween party decorations

halloween-table-decorations-partywareYesterday I carved out a girly pumpkin following a special request from Big Girl. I hang a giant spider web on the staircase. I tested a dancing DJ skeleton and a talking sweet tray. I stuck bats on the kitchen wall, and I spread eye balls on the kids table.

It was just another evening of getting ready for a happening that was a complete non-event before having kids. Halloween.

We started celebrating Halloween when Big Girl was a toddler, and I’ve come to love it. This year we started celebrations early because of the amazing spooky delivery from Tesco, and we received a number of decorations, which have made it easy to ensure the kids have a super spooky Halloween this year.

Now I can’t wait for the kids to come down to the kitchen and see their decorations. I’ve been really impressed with the fun Halloween accessories, such as the dancing DJ skeleton, which is sure to be an ice-breaker at any Halloween party.

We also love the family face paint kit, which includes fake blood–something Big Girl has told me she wants all over her forehead–and the not-so-scary costumes, such as the incredibly cute Frankenstein costume which even impressed tourists when Baby Boy wore the one he received the other day.

Skeletons, fake blood, pumpkins and costumes. All things Halloween have suddenly become extremely important in our house.

Happy Halloween weekend!
