What happens when mum drives off without the buggy

Maclaren stroller‘At least I have Baby Girl.’

That was what was running through my mind on Wednesday when I was pacing around the car looking for the buggy in the boot and in the front seat where I sometimes put it. It turned out I had driven off without the buggy, and I didn’t realise this before I had parked the car 30 minutes later and went to take it out of the boot.

I had been to the New Baby Company meet-up at Cupcake in Parsons Green, and completely forgotten to pack the buggy into the car when I was leaving.

I desperately tried getting hold of someone in the area to see if it was still on the pavement where I figured I must have left it, as I rushed back hoping it wouldn’t have been stolen. There was a Sue Hill merino/cashmere cot bed blanket and a Baby Dan sheepskin in the buggy, which I also didn’t want to lose, and as I was driving back I was calculating the value of the stuff I’d potentially lost by being so careless.

But Londoners are good. Vicki from New Baby Company found it where I’d left it and helped me get it back in the car. By then, it had been left on the pavement for close to an hour, but it still didn’t appear to have been touched and the blanket and sheepskin were still there.

Thank you, London.

The number of times I’ve ‘almost’ done this! Wondering what was son your mind? Must have been something interesting! x

We’d had a great time at the New Baby Company meet-up and Baby Girl was tired and not really up for getting into the car.. I was so focused on strapping her into her car seat and getting her home quickly that I completely forgot about everything else.. I couldn’t really hear myself think through all the screaming!
