0How baby prefers to sleep
Daddy T thinks I’m weak. He thinks I do everything Baby Girl wants to do. But if that had been true, I would have spent my days sitting in a dark bedroom with a sleeping Baby Girl in my lap.
She loves sleeping in my lap, and if she had been in charge, I’m certain she would have chosen to do her daytime naps in my lap.
I think she realised sleeping in my lap was an option after we first travelled with her. On the flight, she was curled up in my lap and seemed to really enjoy her new sleeping arrangement.
Since then, it’s been clear that this is how she prefers to sleep. If she’s lying in her bed crying and I come to comfort her she often falls asleep in my arms again when I pick her up. It can look like she’s wide awake, but as soon as she’s in my arms she will close her eyes.
It makes me feel special, so it’s incredibly tempting to sit on the bed in the dark room and let her sleep the way she wants to. But I’m much stronger than Daddy T thinks. I’m not giving in – at least not every day.
