0How life changes with baby in tow
Today it is exactly one year since I launched Mummy in the City. At that point, I was 37 weeks’ pregnant, complaining about being so warm at night that the bed was sometimes soaking wet when I woke up, suffering from pain from expanding ribs, tired of being forced to sleep on the side for months, and enjoyed getting up in the middle of the night to work on the blog.
Now, I have no bump to carry, but I have an almost 10kg big wiggly Baby Girl to take around. I have no night sweats, but I have few days without getting milk stains on my pyjama top. I have no pain in my ribs, but it has become pretty clear my arms were not used to constantly lifting 10kg before. I never sleep on the side, but then I don’t sleep much at all.
When I do sleep though, I certainly don’t enjoy getting up–it’s only Baby Girl who sees the funny side of that now. What I see is that pain, frustration and lack of sleep is all worth it.
