How to avoid waking the baby

I strongly considered eating dinner out of a Tupperware box yesterday. After Baby Girl had finally fallen asleep after a good three hours of on and off crying, I didn’t want to take any risks.

It felt like I was living on the edge when I decided to continue eating my quiche from my plate instead of moving it to a plastic container to minimise the risk of making noises that could wake her again.

Daddy T was away on a work trip and I was pretty desperate to have a relaxed evening and survive my first night alone with Baby Girl.

I was tiptoeing around the flat in-between feeds, wondering why on earth we had replaced wall-to-wall carpets with wooden floors.

My mobile was on silent, and the volume on the TV was on so low that it was practically impossible to hear the X-Factor contestants sing.

Now I’m not sure if I’m more exhausted from a night trying to keep Baby Girl quiet – or from trying to be super quiet myself.
