How to find a babysitter in London

Vintage baby buggy with baby playing with its sockWhen Daddy T had to take time off work to babysit Baby Girl for two hours recently, he was not very happy. It was not just the fact that he had to leave the office at an inconvenient time, or that he was sweating by the time he arrived to meet us as the tube system had let him down, but it simply doesn’t work to combine a stressful job with the role of emergency babysitter. I soon realised we desperately needed to expand our network of babysitters.

That’s why I’ve now turned to Anna Cameron, founder of Babysitters of Kensington & Chelsea (BOKAC), a babysitting company in London. I think BOKAC has a great website, which makes it easy to book and pay for babysitters online, and I find it reassuring to use a babysitter selected by a company like BOKAC.

I’ve been in touch with Anna via email, and she’s recommended two babysitters to me, who both live close to us and have experience with babies at around the same age as Baby Girl. I’ve had a chance to read profiles and testimonials online, as there’s a section on the website with photos and details about all the babysitters.

I’ve booked the chosen babysitters for two hours each to allow Baby Girl to spend some time with them and get to know them, and after that, I’ll book them online when we need a pair of extra hands to look after our crawling little star. No more daytime tube nightmares for Daddy T.
