0How to get to and from airport with baby
Yesterday Baby Girl reminded me why I didn’t drive to the airport with her last week. Baby Girl and I went to Norway for two days on Tuesday, and we took Heathrow Express for the first time.
It was hard work pushing the stroller with Baby Girl, carrying a packed changing bag and dragging my wheelie bag behind me. We weren’t exactly the quickest to board and disembark the train.
But when we drove back from a late Sunday roast in North London yesterday I remembered why it had been totally worth the extra hassle. We hit traffic and ended up getting home passed Baby Girl’s bedtime.
Someone in the car refused to let us get away with this mistake. It didn’t help to have me sit next to her in the back seat singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star over and over again. Nothing seemed to soothe a tired Baby Girl.
This was exactly what our trip back from Heathrow was like last time Baby Girl and I travelled alone. I’m now even more determined to avoid another bad experience with a screaming Baby Girl on M25 and M4. It’s all trains and cabs for us from now on.
