0How to make new mum friends in London
When I went to the Mermaid Open Weekend the other week, I ran into the lovely Megan and was fascinated to hear about her new company Match Up Mums, which aims to help mums make new friends in their local area. It’s the type of service I would have signed up for if had been pregnant now.
I think many first-time mums in London are like me with no relatives nearby and no friends who are available to meet during the day. But what we do have here are amazing opportunities for meeting new people and making new friends who are at the same stage in life.
We had a fantastic antenatal course experience with New Baby Company, a company I now blog for, and we’ve become very good friends with many of the couples from the group.
I really enjoy meeting new people, and it’s brilliant to have a big network of other mum friends in the beginning, so I like the idea of Match Up Mums as an additional service.
Match Up Mums matches groups of mums based on location, interests, due date and more. After registering, mums are asked to fill in a questionnaire and they are then put in a group with people they are likely to have something in common with. Match Up Mums then helps organise the first get-together.
By taking an antenatal course and signing up for services like Match Up Mums pregnant ladies can make the most of living in London and the amazing experience of having a baby in our wonderful city.
