How to make the most of a bake sale
I’ve found a great way to combine helping friends with a one-week old baby with supporting the fight against cancer. It’s simply a case of baking for a charity bake sale and then buying back the baked goods and passing them on to friends. This is what I ended up doing yesterday when Baby Girl’s nursery was arranging a bake sale in support of cancer research.
I had been meaning to bake for my friend who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last week, but in between working, making a harvest basket, and trying to fit in some sleep, there hadn’t been much time for baking.
On Thursday night, however, it was past midnight and I was up baking cinnamon buns for Baby Girl to have something to take to the bake sale at her nursery the next morning.
When I noticed how late it was by the time I’d finished the baking project, I figured baking was not really for me right now, so the best option seemed to be to take the tower of cinnamon buns to the bake sale and then buy them back later in the day. A real win-win.
