0Cornwall dad introduces soft and stretchy IGLU kids wetsuits
When I spoke to Grandpa P the other week, he said he would try surfing. Please don’t.
I much rather our little ones try surfing as they grow older. I know many families include surfing as an exciting holiday activity, and that’s why I was intrigued to hear from Cornwall dad and surf-shop owner Mark Thorn who told me about how many families they see taking kids surfing year-round.
With the large family market in Cornwall, Mark, who owns Piran Surf in Perranporth in Cornwall, has launched IGLU wetsuits, wetsuits designed with kids in mind. I’ve received a sample of an IGLU wetsuit and like how soft it feels. In fact, it seems much more comfortable to wear than the wetsuits I remember having as I was growing up and doing water skiing in Norway.
It was always a challenge to get them on too, and the IGLU kids wetsuits have a stretchy upper body and legs that are relatively easy to get on considering it is meant to be tight. The wetsuit, which is available from size 2 years, is seam-free and suitable for any beach or water activity where kids need to keep warm.
Last time we went on a beach holiday we had to limit the time spent by the pool as Big Girl had no concept of when enough was enough. She just wanted to be in the water, and failed to recognise signs she was cold and needed to take a break.
It’s all about finding suitable protection and taking appropriate gear on holiday, and I could see the soft IGLU wetsuit being ideal for active children who love being in the water–and may want to try surfing or other watersports in 2016!
