0When dad becomes the inspirational role model
When Big Girl made Daddy T a bookmark earlier today she embellished it with guitar stickers and jazzed it up with some sparkly pink glitter foam. It was the perfect homemade gift for Daddy T–and the only other thing I wish she’d added was the ‘cool dad’ sticker from the crafts box.
I think the ‘cool dad’ sticker would have been pretty fitting considering the morning Daddy T had organised for Big Girl. Father’s Day started with Daddy T playing tennis with Big Girl at 8am, and half way into the session I received a text to prepare a prize. Daddy T was super proud of his little star’s progress, and seeing the two of them returning home from the court with huge smiles was priceless.
I love how Daddy T inspires the children to try new activities and sports. He’s an excellent tennis player, and already I can see both Big Girl and Baby Boy wanting to follow in his footsteps.
It’s also been the same with guitar playing. Daddy T reviewed a lesson with Laurent Shinar in May and has since carried on booking new lessons every week and practising playing the rock tunes he wants to learn, but also looked into playing nursery rhymes to entertain the children. Big Girl, who’s never mentioned guitars before, has now suddenly started getting interested too, wanting to learn to play just like her dad.
I love how Daddy T inspires the children to have a go, take risks and try something new. It might turn into something that will give the children confidence and something they too could become great at.
Happy Father’s Day, Daddy T!
