1Introducing multivitamin supplement to baby and toddler
When Baby Girl’s paediatrician advised me to start giving Baby Girl a daily multivitamin supplement I instantly regretted not having introduced this earlier. I grew up with Grandpa P working in the pharmaceutical industry, often hearing about the benefits of taking vitamin supplements.
But the vitamin supplements I knew from my childhood were not available in UK shops, and when I went to a local pharmacy to buy multivitamins for Baby Girl, I got confused about which one to get.
In our pharmacy, there were so many children’s vitamin supplements to choose from I ended up walking out without any of them, and it couldn’t have been better timing when Haliborange offered to send me a sample of their Baby and Toddler Multivitamin Liquid suitable for children aged 3 months to 3 years.
Baby Girl now takes a teaspoon of this multivitamin supplement every morning, and she seems to really like the orange flavour. It’s become part of her routine, and she takes a spoon without any problems. In fact, it probably makes her feel grown-up, as we both take our vitamin supplements at the same time.
I think we have a varied diet and we try to eat healthy at home, but it turns out this isn’t always enough. I now realise it is better to be on the safe side and give the supplement as well.
I’ll no longer worry about going into a pharmacy to choose a multivitamin either. I know Baby Girl likes her current orange flavoured one, and Baby Boy will soon have to start liking that too.
Stuart is on Haliborange.
