0J by Jasper Conran at Debenhams brings timeless and stylish kids fashion to Oxford Street
When I picked up Big Girl after nursery the other day I heard she’d asked for an apron at lunch time because she didn’t want to get her beautiful new dress dirty.
I was not surprised.
She was very proud of the new flower print party dress she’d picked out from the exclusive J by Jasper Conran collection at Debenhams, which we’d been invited to review.
After the visit to Debenhams on Oxford Street on a Sunda–when the store opens for browsing from 11.30am–and picking out our favourite pieces to take home it looked like one-year-old Baby Boy was ready to go to college in a cool preppy college boy outfit, and Big Girl, who’s soon to turn four, was party-ready in a vintage-style dress fitted at the waist and boasting a big skirt with netting.
We were surprised by the quality feel and affordable prices. In fact, we all agreed J by Jasper Conran was a good find, offering timeless children’s clothes with a modern twist from a British design icon and the Debenhams Oxford Street store has a good selection of the range.
Our main experience with Jasper Conran designs have previously been from the Jasper Conran Wedgwood tableware, which we save for dinner parties, but the children’s clothes were not only for special occasions.
The girls collection featured a number of pretty dresses, which would be spot on for birthday parties, but since Big Girl is of the opinion that party dresses are equally appropriate for playing tennis and going to nursery school she could wear her gorgeous flower dress straight away.
For those who do differ between birthday dresses and everyday wear, however, the girls collection also included a chic denim jumpsuit and cute denim shirt dress with a bow at the waist. There were also soft cotton t-shirts with sparkly designs, which Big Girl adored, and paired with belted white trousers, and the knitted navy dress is a true classic.
For boys, I fell in love with the selection of smart, belted chino trousers and shorts. One-year-old Baby Boy looked very stylish dressed in semi-formal shorts and trousers with D-ring plaited belts in shades of blue.
The J by Jasper Conran belted boat print shorts has a nautical feel and is my very favourite piece from the collection. It can be paired with a basic tee for a casual look, or dressed up with a shirt–and perhaps even a bow tie–for a special occasion.
Classic and affordable kids fashion!
