Joining a family club

Before Baby Girl was born Daddy T and I went on a tour of two family clubs. We assumed it would be a good idea to become a member somewhere where Baby Girl could take part in cooking classes, do pottery and play musical instruments.

We now realise that art and music are probably not top priorities for newborns. At six weeks, she’s definitely more into eating, sleeping and burping than anything that is offered on a class schedule.

But her parents can’t wait to join a club. We’ve registered our interest at Purple Dragon in Chelsea, and Daddy T loved it so much there that he even asked if we could join before the baby arrived.

I think he pictured himself playing golf or trying clay pigeon shooting in the simulator on a quiet Sunday. I loved the art room where there was a potter’s wheel. Now we just need Baby Girl to want to join in the fun – or at least be able to sit on the lap and watch us doing the things we love.
