0How to keep baby’s skin moisturised
On a Sunday evening in July I ended up texting pictures of Baby Boy’s chest and back to his GP, and the next morning he was seen by a dermatologist at The Smart Clinics. He suddenly looked red and spotty, and it turned out he had a case of infected eczema.
To ensure his skin gets nice and smooth again, and stays that way, he’s now on a rigorous moisturising regime.
In addition to applying the creams he were prescribed, I discovered we had a bottle of Weleda Calendula Cream Bath and Weleda White Mallow Body Lotion, which I had received to try, and started using these daily.
Since Weleda Calendula Shampoo and Bodywash is my favourite baby shampoo, I figured Weleda Calendula Cream Bath would be good to use. It’s a super easy way to moisturise baby, and avoid missing any little dry areas, such as behind baby’s ears. It feels soft on his delicate skin, and even his scalp gets moisturised. His hair feels a bit funny afterwards, but since it nourishes his skin it also makes me feel like I’m doing something right.
In addition to the bath, I’ve used Weleda White Mallow Body Lotion-part of a new Weleda babycare range designed for babies with skin problems, such as baby eczema or rash. This range seemed ideal for Baby Boy, and it has been awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance and is 100% certified-natural. I like the feel of this body lotion, and it seems very soothing. We’re getting there!
