2Child-friendly restaurants in Chelsea
I’m thrilled to be able to go to restaurants without worrying about tables with space for a buggy. Fifteen-month old Baby Girl is now old enough to have something from a kids menu or share something from the normal menu with us. This means we’re back at some of our favourite Chelsea spots, which were not always ideal when it was best to go out when she had a nap and could sleep in her buggy next to the table.
Tom’s Kitchen
Daddy T and I used to go to Tom’s Kitchen for brunch at least once every weekend before Baby Girl was born. After she was born, we stopped going because it’s best to park buggies in a separate area there, and not so easy to have them by the table on a busy day. But now that Baby Girl can sit in a high chair and have brunch with us the relaxed Tom’s Kitchen is once again one of our favourite restaurants. The days when we could grab some of the first come, first served seats by the bar counter are perhaps gone, but we’ve become super organised and book weeks in advance to get a table big enough for us to meet up with friends at 11 on a Sunday and enjoy a lovely brunch. For Baby Girl, it’s not only about people-watching and great food. She also loves the crayons and colouring paper at Tom’s Kitchen.
Colbert
Baby Girl has been to this busy Sloane Square brasserie, which opened last year, many times now, but it’s not before more recently that it’s become a great place for us to go. Colbert–like the other Corbin & King restaurants–is very kids-friendly and there are high chairs and we’ve always felt very welcome. The challenge when you have a baby is the space for the pram. Buggies can be folded and stored, so now it’s fine for us to go here for brunch, but when Baby Girl was little I took her in a car seat instead and had her sleeping in that. I love the fact that we can now go to the fab Colbert without worrying about Baby Girl’s sleeping arrangements.
Very helpful post! Thank you!
