Late night bottle feed for dad

I don’t know much about farming. But I think I know what it feels like to be a dairy cow. It’s all about producing large quantities of milk for both them and me.

Daddy T is obsessed. He’s the one monitoring the milk production. As soon as we bring the pump out, he’s reaching for the control unit, regulating the speed and watching the time.

Like dairy farmers, he knows he has to collect a certain amount of milk in one day, and to do that, he needs me to be strapped to the plastic cups on the pump for ten minutes every night. This is how he gets what he needs for his feed.

As part of Baby Girl’s sleep routine, we’ve introduced a late night bottle feed for Daddy T. When we wake her up at 10.30 for a feed, he’s the one in charge. He comes prepared with a bib and 120ml of freshly warmed milk. Our in-house ‘dairy cow’ is off-duty.

How does Baby Girl get on with the bottle ? I found it really difficult to pump I must admit and I did feel a bit like a milking cow ! Hopefully you are getting some benefit and extra sleep ?

I’m not exactly getting more sleep, but at least Daddy T is getting some quality time with Baby Girl. It’s also nice for me to have a bit more time in the evening – even if part of the time is spent cleaning and sterilising the pump!
