0Learning to roll from back to front
It’s not easy to get anything done in the house when looking after a baby – particularly not one that is about to learn a new trick.
I’ve been worried about taking my eyes off of Baby Girl in the last few days. She’s been perfectly safe on her non-toxic, non-slip mat, but even when there have been other people looking at her, I’ve been struggling to leave the room. My favourite activity has been to stand next to her mat with a camera.
On Friday, we met two of her other five-month old baby friends, who could roll from their back to their tummy, and Baby Girl hadn’t started doing that yet without holding on to a toy. Her top trick was to roll from her tummy to her back.
But I figured it could happen any second. It looked like she was so close – way too close to leave the room as of Sunday.
Baby Girl knows how to keep me on my toes though. And she clearly didn’t see any point in me washing Daddy T’s shirts this week either.
It was way more important to have me standing there with the camera for 24 hours, getting the timing spot on in terms of maximising attention and build-up for her first unassisted back-roll. What a super fun day for us both.
