010 London family shows for Christmas 2015
1. Peppa Pig Live
A Christmas special of Peppa Pig’s Surprise, the new Peppa Pig Live show with life-sized puppets, will be playing at West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre from 18 December to 17 January. The show is aimed at a pre-school audience.
2. The Tiger Who Came to Tea
The stage adaptation of classic children’s book The Tiger Who Came to Tea, which tells the charming story of a girl and her mum who have their tea interrupted by a tiger, will be playing at West End’s The Lyric from 25 November to 10 January. The show is recommended for children aged 3 and over.
3. The Nutcracker on Ice
For families with older children, the ice dancing version of much-loved festive ballet The Nutcracker, The Nutcracker on Ice, will be performed at Royal Albert Hall on 4,000 square feet of ice from 28 December to 2 January.
4. Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment
Featuring a mix of Disney favourites like Little Mermaid, Frozen, Toy Story and Cars, Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment will be entertaining families at The O2 from 22 December to 3 January.
5. Beauty and the Beast
A unique version of children’s classic Beauty and the Beast will be playing at Polka Theatre in Wimbledon from 20 November to 7 February, and there will be a special VIP performance with an after-party for the whole family on 5 December. The show is recommended for children aged 6 to 12, but younger children are welcome to some performances.
6. Elf The Musical
Based on the funny comedy Elf, the festive production Elf The Musical, which tells the story of little Buddy who comes into Santa’s bag of presents by mistake, is playing at West End’s Dominion Theatre for a limited season until 2 January.
7. Cinderella
A festive and modern version of Cinderella, where Cinderella heads to the biggest party of the season to find her prince, will be playing at Lyric Hammersmith from 21 November to 3 January. The show is recommended for children aged 6 and over.
8. The Snowman
The stage show based on Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman, a sweet story about a boy and his magical snowman that comes to life, is coming to The Peacock in Holborn, and will be running from 25 November to 3 January.
9. Father Christmas
The stage adaptation of another Raymond Briggs’ favourite, Father Christmas, a much-loved Christmas tale, is returning to Lyric Hammersmith from 20 November to 24 December. The show is recommended for under 6s.
10. Dr Seuss The Lorax
The stage show inspired by Dr Seuss’s The Lorax, featuring songs, humour and festive fun, will be playing at The Old Vic from 3 December to 16 January. The show is recommended for children aged 6 and over.
