2Review: Sweet Prelude for adorable bespoke London kids birthday cakes
Yesterday Baby Boy woke up and gave Laa-Laa a cuddle. Not his cuddly toy Laa-Laa, but the adorable Laa-Laa figurine on the small piece of cake leftover from his birthday cake from Sweet Prelude.
He was clearly excited about his Laa-Laa cake designed around his favourite Teletubbies character, and I’m not surprised as the cake had me excited too. It featured a cute Laa-Laa character made in icing, sitting on top of the grass-covered Teletubbies house and there were mini cupcakes with flowers surrounding the house.
We had chosen chocolate flavour for the cake, and the moist cake was delicious, containing a layer with milk chocolate ganache inside. I liked the taste so much that I ended up immediately reaching for more cake after having a first small piece, and I also loved the cream on the set of 16 cupcakes Sweet Prelude delivered together with the cake.
Sweet Prelude, started by the lovely Carolina who used to be in Fulham but is now in Richmond, has become the cake company my other mum friends and I talk about, and I’ve now tasted five cakes from Sweet Prelude after reviewing the cakes and being served Sweet Prelude cakes at friends’ parties.
The common theme is that these cakes taste amazing and are super cute,. It shows that Carolina makes them with the utmost care, using her pastry skills to create adorable cakes that are true centrepieces. A cake company to add to your mummy birthday contact list!
Disclaimer: I had agreed a discount on the cake to review
Thank you so much for the lovely review Tine! 🙂
You’re very welcome! I love your cakes and the recognisable cuteness of the characters! x
