Kite Studios
Shepherd’s Bush art studio Kite Studios is hosting summer workshops for children aged four to 13 on weekdays and Saturdays from 18 July to 30 July, 8 August to 20 August and 30 August to 3 September. There are one and a half-hour sessions for four to eight-year-olds from 10am to 11.30am every day (£15 per session), while nine to 13-year-olds can do full days from 9am to 5pm (£85 per day), or half-days from noon to 3pm (£30 per session), which are for eight to 13-year-olds. There’s a new theme every day, and the schedule includes clay modelling, printmaking, ceramic jewellery, painting, puppet construction and much more.
Cuckoo Hibou
Boutique, cafe and kids workshop venue Cuckoo Hibou in Parsons Green is running Summer Cuckoo Club every weekday from 9.30am to noon from Monday 25 July to Friday 12 August for children aged two and a half years to six years. There will be ballet, music, arts and crafts at the multi-activity drop-off club, which is £150 for a week or £32 per morning.
Teddy Tennis
Children’s tennis programme Teddy Tennis is hosting Summer Tennis Camps in Wimbledon Park and Canbury Gardens in Kingston for children aged two to five. There are 45-minute sessions for £8 per lesson for two to three year olds at 9am every morning on camp days–Monday to Friday 25 July to 19 August. Children aged three to five can do two-hour sessions from 10am to noon every day for £20 per session. The two-hour sessions for the eldest start with a one-hour lesson before there’s a 15-minute Teddy Bear Picnic break followed by 45 minutes of fun and games. Discounts and freebies are available for siblings and bulk bookings. There are no Teddy Tennis holiday camps in Battersea Park this summer. Playball
Multi-sports activity programme Playball is hosting Playball summer holiday camps in Battersea Park and at Oak Lodge School in SW12. The camps are designed for children aged between 3 and 8, and each session lasts from 10am to 1pm. The fun programme will include Playball games, water slide, treasure hunt and more, and there will be 7 Playball coaches at the camps, which run between 20 July and 2 September and can be booked online.
Art Barn
Art class provider Art Barn in Chelsea is running a number of summer holiday workshops with art, messy play and games for children aged 3 to 6 from 12 July to 31 August. The three-hour sessions, which take place at Pooh Corner Kindergarten or St Stephen’s Church in Gloucester Road from 9.30am to 12.30pm on each day, cost £35 per child.
The Little Foxes Club
Children’s sports class provider The Little Foxes Club is hosting holiday camps in Holland Park, Battersea Park, Hyde Park, Hurlingham Park and other venues for children aged from 18 months to 11 years. Dates and sports vary in the different locations, but in Hurlingham Park, for example, there are age-specific football sessions every weekday from Monday 25 July to Friday 2 September. In Holland Park the summer camp programme starts on Friday 8 July.
Little House of Science
Maths and science class provider Little House of Science is hosting a variety of two-hour summer holiday workshops for children aged four to nine on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 July to 1 September. The workshops are held in a variety of locations around London, including Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill and Putney, and covers topics such as robotics, great inventions, polymers and magnetsl. Workshops can be booked separately and are priced at £45 per session.
The Little Gym of Wandsworth and Fulham
For children aged three to eight, The Little Gym is hosting adventure summer camps in the mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday and 2pm to 5pm on Wednesdays from 25 July to 2 September.On Tuesdays and Thursdays there are gymnastics skills camps for children aged six to 12 years from 2pm to 5pm.
Royal Academy of Dance
Royal Academy of Dance is hosting one-week long children’s summer classes for children aged 4 to 5 and 6 to 7 years. The classes, which end with a presentation with props and make-up for parents and guardians on the Friday, will be held in the weeks commencing on 25 July and 1 August in the RAD Headquarters on Battersea Square. The younger children’s classes run from 9.30-11.15am from Monday to Thursday a
nd the older children’s classes run from 11.30am-1.15pm from Monday to Thursday, while the Friday sessions are from 9.30-1.30 for everyone to allow for rehearsals and presentation. The course fee is £100 for one week.
The Kensington Ballet School
For children aged 3.5 to 5.5 years, The Kensington Ballet School has a one-week summer school in Christ Church with three-hour long workshops from 9am to noon in the week commencing on 25 July. The programme will include ballet, drama, make-up, costumes and mime, and the venue has a secluded garden, where the little ones can enjoy their mid-morning break. Although parents are welcome to drop in during the sessions, they will also have the opportunity to see what the children have learnt in a show at the end of the week.
