0Making fruity summer snacks with children
We might have overdone it on the cinnamon, but we still managed to make some very yummy fruity snacks yesterday.Baby Girl and I tried out two new recipes after receiving a recipe kit from Sainsbury’s, which is running a Summer Sorted campaign, offering practical help and inspiration for families over the school holiday.
I often stock up on snacks from the baby and toddler section when doing grocery shopping, so it was great to try out something new and homemade instead.
Apple thins and yogurt buttons took around 15 minutes to make in preparation time, and it’s easy to involve little ones in making these fruity snacks.
To make apple thins, you only have to cut thin slices of apples and children can help sprinkle cinnamon over. After that, the apple thins can bake in the oven–first for 20 minutes at 180C and then for another 1- minutes at 200C. (See the full recipe HERE)
To make yogurt buttons, children can help spoon yogurt onto a lined tray and top each one with a sliced strawberry. After that, you can put the tray in the freezer for an hour before peeling them off the paper and serving immediately. (See the full recipe HERE)
Both recipes were super easy to make, so it is easy for little ones to get involved–and making homemade snacks practically made me feel like a domestic goddess.
Summer sorted!
