Making hair accessories for girls with Bow-it-All from Hochanda

Bow-It-All Zutter CraftsAfter celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday three-year-old Big Girl and I have a very important task to complete. We’re making hair accessories for her classmates in nursery.

We started the work last weekend, and Big Girl was seriously impressed with our mother-daughter activity. We had received the Bow-it-All by Zutter with Bonus Accessory Pack (£24.99) from the arts and crafts TV channel Hochanda to review, and I’d bought a pack of 100 setting clips from Amazon to get us started with the bow-making.

We first started watching video tutorials on YouTube to find out how it worked, and I soon realised the opportunities are endless with the compact Bow-it-All board, which comes in a pink pouch for easy storage.

We tried doing a triple loop bow first, but eventually I figured we really didn’t need anything too complex. I decided to look at the hair bow Big Girl was wearing instead, read some of the basic instructions and move the pegs around our Bow-it-All board to make perfect hair bows in different sizes.

Bow-it-All PegsWith the help of Big Girl and the pegs attached to the board, we made gorgeous hair bows in a variety of colours in minutes. Big Girl helped sort the clips and cut the ribbons, and I tied the bows around the pegs.

I was so proud I had to FaceTime Grandma N to show her our newly acquired skill, and Big Girl was so proud she brought in a picture of the Bow-it-All to nursery to do show-and-tell.

Bow-it-All is not only practical for families with little girls who wear hair clips all the time, but I also think it’s a fun and unique crafts activity for mums who enjoy doing something creative to wind down.
