Making the most of my mummy me-day

Tine HolidayI’ve waited 13.5 months for this day. A day off. It’s not that I’ve had anything to complain about. I feel very lucky to be spending time with Baby Girl, and I’ve loved taking time off together with her too. But it can sometimes be difficult to fit in time to run errands, buy that new wedding outfit, or simply go for a swim.

This week I felt I had my first proper day off. I had finished a freelance project the day before, dropped Baby Girl off at nursery in the morning and was–by mistake–waiting outside Harrods 20 minutes before the doors opened.

I didn’t think anything could stop me from enjoying my special day. But I hadn’t foreseen ever being asked to pay £5.06 for a latte either.

It felt like a complete rip off, especially since I had sat down in the cafe thinking it was one of the places where I could get a free rewards card latte.

It didn’t actually help that this place didn’t even have a take away cup to pour my coffee into when I had to leave and didn’t want any of my luxury coffee to go to waste.

But at least I’m better prepared for my me-day next year. I’m much more up to date on where not to go to satisfy my full-fat latte intake.
