0Matching mummy-daughter style with Seraphina beachwear
‘This is a picnic blanket’
‘No, it’s mine’
Three-year-old Big Girl was slightly confused when we were at the beach the other day. She thought we’d brought a picnic blanket to match her beach cover-up, but I had to disappoint her–albeit not for long. The ‘picnic blanket’ was my Seraphina London beach poncho, which matches hers, and made us both look pretty chic on the beach.
We’d received the pracical mummy-daughter beach cover-ups to review, and we’ve now worn them on two holidays. Both times the little poncho kaftan with contrast tassels (£65) for girls and the matching mummy poncho (£135) have been brilliant for keeping something lightweight in the beach bag and for covering up in the sun. We’ve worn them over swimwear for lunch at a very casual beach bar, we’ve worn them for sitting in the sand building sand castles, and we’ve worn them for lounging around on the beach.
It’s probably the first time we’ve had matching outfits, and it’s been a hit with Big Girl, who was quite upset when there was one day I forgot to bring hers to the beach. In addition to finding it pretty cool that she has the same beach outfit as me, I think she enjoys having something as comfortable as this poncho to wear over her swimwear when I want to dress her in an extra layer.
The loose fit and thin fabric is ideal for little ones, as it’s easy to combine with sticky sun creams and water, and I also like that the poncho is quick drying and easy to pack.
I sometimes forget the importance of having loungewear when going on a beach holiday, but another holiday favourite for Big Girl has been the Seraphina Little Pyjama Set with Bow (£35), which she also received to review.
Back in London, this makes a cute summer pyjama, but on holiday it’s also seemed like the ideal outfit to wear after enjoying a swim in the pool. It takes hardly any space in our bag and it’s super comfortable for her to run around in lightweight cotton clothes in the heat.
Seraphina London will soon be back on King’s Road with it’s summer pop-up opening at 340 King’s Road from 7 June to 6 July. Expect stylish beach dresses and kaftans for mothers and daughters in vibrant colours and prints, as well as gorgeous quilted cotton blankets and other accessories.
