0Meeting Father Christmas at London’s National Gallery
This year, Father Christmas will be coming to London’s National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, where families can meet him as part of the National Gallery Christmas experience opening on Saturday 12 December.
Inspired by painting A Winter Scene with Skaters near a Castle by Hendrick Avercamp, visitors can journey into a winter wonderland and learn about characters in the Dutch town portrayed in Avercamp’s masterpiece.
As part of the experience, children will meet Father Christmas and his elves and receive a gift. The adult tickets (12+) include a mince pie and tea, coffee or soft drink from the Christmas cafe, where it’s also possible to buy treats for children.
To make the most of the visit, families with tickets booked for slots before 5pm can also explore the National Gallery Collection, and the museum shop will be open for Christmas shopping.
Tickets are £20 per child and £10 per adult, and the event is recommended for children aged up to 12 years. For full details, please see the National Gallery website.
