‘Buzz, buzz, buzz’
After watching Minuscule on Saturday three-year-old Big Girl was sitting in the car speaking ladybird and ant language. She seemed to have understood the story of the French family film, which doesn’t include any normal conversation–only animal sounds.
She had gone with Daddy T, who didn’t feel this was his thing due to the lack of catchy songs and jokes he’s loved in other recent releases, but Big Girl, who adores animals in general, was clearly more capable of interpreting the ladybird and ant dialogue in the film.
The film, an animation with almost photographic backdrops, is based on the Cbeebies show of the same name and tells the story of a ladybird who befriends an ant and helps an ant tribe in a battle against their enemies.
Inspired by the film, we’ve been making buzzing sounds at home for a number of days now, and the film itself buzzed into cinemas nationwide on Friday. It’s exclusively available at Vue Cinemas, and it’s running at Vue Cinema on Fulham Broadway, for example, over half-term.
