When mum needs extra sleep

After having been up several times in the middle of the night I was not in a particularly jolly mood at 6.17 in the morning yesterday. But Baby Girl was.

Daddy T had placed her in our bed next to me before getting ready to leave for work himself, and she was her usual chatty self.

Baby Girl: ‘Mummy sing ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas to me’
Me: ‘But I’m sleeping’
Baby Girl: ‘Maybe daddy can sing it’
Daddy T: ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas..’
Me: Crawling further under the duvet desperately  hoping Daddy T doesn’t know the second verse of the song and that Baby Girl will magically fall asleep next to me after the mini-concert has stopped

Yay. It worked.

There will be no more ‘Twinkle twinkle little star’ at sleep time in our house. It’s ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ all the way from now.
