New mum getting back in shape

Vintage baby buggy with baby playing with its sockI don’t think I need a personal trainer. I have someone at home who knows how to exhaust me. Baby Girl seems to be completely up to date on killer workout routines.

I felt completely drained on Monday night and fell asleep on the sofa during the first episode of the new series of Made in Chelsea. I clearly wasn’t being myself and in dire need of some sleep. But Baby Girl had different plans for the night.

She seemed to think I needed to burn some extra calories. Instead of sleeping for nine and a half hours without waking up like she’s proved she can do now, she only slept for an hour or two at a time and at one point she was up for two hours straight.

I tried everything. Most of the time I was standing up with her in my arms, trying to rock her to sleep.

I’m not sure a personal trainer would approve of my posture, but few can argue that carrying close to nine kilos for two hours isn’t good exercise for the arms.
