New Year’s Eve for sleep-deprived parents

Baby Girl missed New Year’s Eve. But she wasn’t the only one. Daddy T and I missed it too.

For sleep-deprived new parents like us, it definitely wasn’t a good idea to have dinner at 5.45 and be back at 8.15. It made it impossible to stay awake until midnight.

The problem was that it didn’t make sense to stay up when Baby Girl was fast asleep and we finally had the opportunity to catch-up on sleep. She had slept through dinner too, so we knew it would be a very early morning for us today.

This is why we’ve become the type of people who claim fireworks don’t have to be experienced locally.

Sydney-time was clearly more suitable for us yesterday. Watching the Sydney fireworks on the news was all we needed. That was it. It was 2013 somewhere at least.
